Day 1: Arrive at New Delhi International Airport. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Delhi where you will have time to settle from your long journey. If possible, we recommend a flight that arrives earlier in the day so you have more time to relax. (1 night at Radisson Blu)

Day 2-3: Catch an early morning train to Pushkar. Riding the train in India is such an inherent part of experiencing the culture. We'll enjoy the scenery as we cross the state of Rajasthan to our destination. This holy town is a prominent Hindu pilgrimage destination that feels enchantingly small. Pushkar curls around a holy lake, and often hums with puja (prayers) generating a soundtrack of chanting, drums, and gongs. Here we will have time to practice yoga with a local guru, visit temples (including the world-famous Brahma temple), take a camel ride at sunset, explore the colorful bazaars, and observe the life of the locals along the ghats (steps down to the water). (2 nights at Jagat Palace)

Day 4-7: We will depart Pushkar in the morning to drive to Udaipur (5-6 hours). Set beside shimmering Lake Pichola, Udaipur is a romantic destination filled with fantastical palaces, temples, a lively arts scene, and countless narrow, colorful streets. We will stroll through the local markets, watch traditional folk dance, take a boat ride on the lake, and tour the city palace/garden. There will be a day trip to visit the stunning marvel that is the Ranakpur Jain temple (check out the photo in the above slideshow!). We also can't wait to share tea and kirtan in the home of our dear friends, Mukesh & Chanchal, one evening during our stay! (3 nights at Chunda Palace)

Day 8-9: We arrive in Vrindavan by train in the morning. Vrindavan is where the young Krishna is said to have grown up. As pilgrims flock here from all over India, the town is alive with devotion. Dozens of temples, old and modern, dot the area and we will have time to explore many of them, and even enjoy evening kirtan together at the Krishna Balram temple. One morning we will visit the Sandipani Muni School and have an opportunity to interact with the children. Later that day, we will journey to the epic Taj Mahal to take in its splendor at sunset. (2 nights at MVT Guesthouse)

Day 10-11: We will depart Vrindavan in the morning to drive to Delhi, where we will catch a train north to Haridwar (4 hours). Located at the point where the Ganges River emerges from the Himalayas, Haridwar (which means "Gateway of God") is one of the 7 holiest places to Hindus and is said to be where Lord Vishnu left his footprint. Observe the daily rituals along the banks of the Ganges, enjoy fantastic food on the streets (the best masala dosas!), shop your way through the market, and attend the famous evening Aarti (prayer) ceremony at Har-ki-Pauri along the Ganges banks. We will also spend time with a modern-day spirtual saint named Nani Ma. (2 nights at Ganga Lehari)

Day 12-16: A short one-hour drive brings us north to Rishikesh. Situated at the banks of the jade green Ganges River, the town is also a gateway to the mighty Himalayas. Known as the Yoga Capitol of the World, Rishikesh has been a magnet for spiritual seekers. You will find an abundance of yoga ashrams, meditation, Ayurveda, reiki, and other healing modalities. Here we will unwind from our travels and dive deeper into our practice. You have the option to trek to a waterfall, visit the ashram where the Beatles were in the 60s, and/or go whitewater rafting. (4 nights at Divine Ganga Cottages)
