An Evolution

When I was new to yoga, my practice was all about pushing, striving, comparing, and expecting. It took a lot of time to break through that hard shell. To see that I didn’t have to (and simply couldn’t) do it all; on the mat, or in life. That there was actually a beauty in faltering, getting messy, and staring uncertainty square in the eyes. Marianne Williamson said "Until your knees finally hit the floor, you're just playing at life.” Well, a few moments in life happened that smacked me with the reality of what surrender is. I really had no other choice. And it wasn't just beautiful, but it was surprisingly powerful.

Over the years my practice has become an exploration in feeling, breathing, trusting, and just letting it all go.
